Compatibility of Co-formulants with Gram-negative Bacteria and Fungi Strains
Presented by Xiangtao Meng and Caroline Woelfle-Gupta
Using biological formulations for pest control and plant nutrition has become a clear industry trend, leading to increased interest in co-formulants suitable for use with biological actives. Optimal compatibility between these novel actives and co-formulants is one of the critical challenges for biological formulation. The right co-formulants are key to develop stable and efficient crop protection formulations allowing the active ingredients to realize their full potential.
During this webinar, Xiangtao Meng (Associate Research Scientist, Dow Industrial Solutions) and Caroline Woelfle-Gupta (Senior Research Scientist, Dow Industrial Solutions) will guide the audience through advanced compatibility screening methods and the ways in which Dow can support your team in finding the right solution for your biological formulations.
Advanced screening methods such as High-throughput (HTR) luminescence assays can help formulators feel confident in selecting the right co-formulants for their microbial actives. Using Dow’s in-house capabilities, the Dow Crop Solutions team developed POWERBLOX™ BC co-formulants, a line of products compatible with multiple microbial strains commonly used in the Ag market. These newly developed co-formulants showed good compatibility with a large variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and fungi.
